http://www.duke.edu/~charvey/ with its 8,000 Word Hypertextual Finance Glossary may be the most extensive but is not the most detailed in its explanations.
http://www.investopedia.com Most of the glossaries / dictionaries simply provide definitions but the dictionary at http://www.investopedia.com is different because it has easy links to articles which explain the subject in greater depth.
http://www.sec.gov/answers.shtml The questions and answers section of the Securities Exchange Commissions web site has explanations of hundreds of terms.
