Identity Theft

Payments at this site are encrypted for security. Our site has a Geotrust Certificate of Approval for security. We use 128-bit encryption for transmissions. The company that processes the credit card payment performs a number of checks to ensure veracity. However, if you are a victim of identity theft please inform us by email citing the reference number of the police report filed. Email contact may be initiated from the Contact Us page.  A link to the Contact Us page is provided at the bottom of every page on our web site.

To reduce identity theft we suggest that you:

  • Contact any one of the major credit bureaus. Ask them to place a Fraud/Security Alert on your account, which will require any company seeking to extend credit on your account to request additional identification and/or contact you at home for verification. Placing an alert with any of the credit bureaus will automatically create an alert at all three bureaus, and each will send you a free copy of your credit report within 7 – 10 days.  The major credit bureaus are:

Experian     www.experian.com     (888) 397-3742
Equifax       www.equifax.com       (800) 525-6285
TransUnion www.transunion.com   (800) 680 7289

  • Review your credit report at least once a year.
  • Protect your information. Completely shred or destroy any documents that contain your personal information prior to throwing them out.
  • Never give out full personal information to anyone who telephones you. It’s OK to give out information if you have telephoned them, know they are reputable and honest, and know they will protect your information.
  • Never carry your social security card in your wallet or use your social security number on checks or identification cards, such as a driver’s license or membership cards.
  • Report lost or stolen credit cards, checks or other personal information immediately.
  • Do not leave your mail in an unsecured mailbox.
  • Shop online only with reputable merchants using the latest online security technology.
  • Avoid emails that ask for your personal information or emails that send you to web sites asking for personal information.
